Description

Woven pandanus mat made of two long, thin sections woven together down a centre seam. The rectangular mat has three sections - the centre is tightly woven with two areas of stencil-dyed geometric designs. Both end sections have woven open-work patterns and are lined on all three edges with long fringe. The red fringe on the short edge extends out of short plaited pieces.

Narrative

Donors were given these mats (3609/1-3) during their adoption ceremony in 1995 at the village of Loltong.
