Description

Woven pandanus mat made of two long, thin sections woven together down a centre seam. The rectangular mat has three sections - a tightly woven centre decorated with stenciled diamonds and repeating X's in different shades of dyed red. Both end sections have woven open-work patterns with stenciled bands overtop and are lined on the long edge with fringe, also dyed dark red.

Narrative

Donors were given these mats (3609/1-3) during their adoption ceremony in 1995 at the village of Loltong.
