Small circular basket tray with flat centre and raised edge. Flat circular base with raised edges and a plaited rim. Basket composed of coiled flexible sticks(?) bound together with plant fibre stitching. Overall repeating diamond pattern on both exterior and interior worked in darker colours.
Collected by the donor in 1976-1980, when she and her husband were living in Bougainville, where her husband worked as a mining engineer; some of the pieces were gifted to them.
