Description

Painted clay female standing upright and holding a white baby goat, on a square base. Female has a thin oval-shaped face, circular eyes, long nose, closed mouth with large lips, and small protruding ears; eyes are painted white with black pupils, long black eyebrows painted overtop. She has long black hair tightly braided down her back; lines incised throughout, imitating hair strands. Impressed lines across bare feet, imitating toes. Figure is wearing a knee-length red dress with white polka dots throughout; dark blue dots on white spots. Goat has impressed holes across nose, imitating nostrils; eyes are black painted spots. Base is painted red; bottom of base, and figure's face and limbs are naturally coloured. Unsigned.
