Pants Item Number: 3619/1 b from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

Part of a three piece gbariye (also see 3619/1 a and c). White pants with wide waistline that taper to narrow legs; made up of strips of cloth stitched together along the long edges. Background of strips is white, with silver and dark blue stripes overtop; threads are metallic. Openwork bands, made up of repeating crosses, along lengths of strips at varying distances. Heavy dark grey embroidery around leg openings, and along lower half of outer seam. Designs are an assortment of curvilinear, circular, and geometric motifs; together they form a crown-like pattern. Seam pockets on either side of waist, along front of pants. Small opening at front centre of waistline, for fastening and tightening pants.
