Description

Blouse or huipil consisting of two rectangular, cotton, woven pieces hand sewn together using an overcast stitch of red thread. The panels are decorated in bands of chevron, zigzag, triangular and lozenge patterns with a central floral motif. The designs are in purple, pink, green, yellow, blue, orange, white and black on a red ground. The bottom has a thick red border. The sides of the huipil are sewn with the exception of arm holes and the middle has a vertical slit opening. All of the openings are edged with a piece of purple silk fabric.
