Kimono Jacket Item Number: 3696/6 from the MOA: University of British Columbia
Cream-coloured silk kimono jacket (haori) with lining. Jacket has a centre opening and short sleeves. Sleeves consist of rectangular hanging panels, with openings under arms. Jacket covered with dyed designs of long-tailed birds, and flowering vines; done in shades of dark red and yellow, with glitter highlights throughout. Upper half of jacket, and sleeves, is lined with cream-coloured silk; silk has woven floral designs.
Ribbed weave. Yuzen technique (resist dye method) used for birds and floral designs on exterior.
