Sleeveless tunic consisting of vertical strips of undyed cotton; longer at back than front. Small panels extend from main body of garment, framing long slits down sides. Tunic flares halfway down, pleating around bottom edge. Collars, chest, and centre back are heavily embroidered; done in red, green, and black. Collar decorated with band of alternating colours; framed with line of triangles. Geometric patterns extend from front and back of collar. Design on front framed with additional circular motifs; designs on back have tufts of yarn throughout. Collar and bottom opening are hemmed; collar is lined.
Textiles were acquired by the donor, and her mother, in the mid-1960s, in the Hausa area. They were for their personal use, or their husband's.
