Skirt Item Number: 3705/3 from the MOA: University of British Columbia
Silk tube skirt, consisting of two identical panels hand stitched together on the short sides; additional piece of cotton stitched around top edge to form a waist band. Skirt decorated in three sections; upper two have concentric diamond and additional geometric motifs. Top band done with ikat technique, and second is embroidered. Bottom section is plain red. Checkered and multi-coloured stripes are embroidered between each section. Wide green band borders bottom edge of skirt. Waist band done in orange with alternating, trimmed purple and black stripes. Skirt is unlined, and top edge is unfinished. Collector's tag sewn inside, with culture and place made.
Green band along bottom indicates skirt is from Fak Tha district of Uttaradit province; black would indicate it's from Nam Pat district.
