Mask Item Number: 3706/4 from the MOA: University of British Columbia



Humanoid male mask with oval-shaped eyes, protruding nose, and angular face. Face is painted pink beige with rosy cheeks, and faint grey stubble(?). Male has large eyebrows above grey eyes; full fibre upper lashes, and painted lower. Short curled hair and beard, carved in relief, around sides. Lips are painted red, and mask has two black moles, on cheek and chin. Crescent-shaped cut outs below painted eyes; nostrils cut out as well. Three holes drilled in top edge of mask, with fibre rigging knotted through them; two nails along inside edge. Interior is hollow, with additional groove for nose to slot in; painted white.
Purchased by Frank Mayrs in the 1960s-1970s from shops and artists.
