Ground adze; 2 small grooves on dorsal surface; groove on one lateral edge; 2 bevelled edges; dent on dorsal surface with orange stain (rust?)
Notes
bifacially ground and polished adze fashioned from cream coloured nephrite; rectangular cross-section with bevelled lateral edges; lateral edges taper slightly toward base; slighly diagonal bit, sharply bevelled; longitudinal grooves down midline of one face; longitudinal grooves on one lateral edge on either side of snap to detach adze from parent material (poss. rejuvenation of damaged tool?); some pecking at distal end, poss. from striking adze with hammerstone
