retouched tool fashioned from bottle glass; transparent colourless glass bottle base, steeply retouched along edges, probably for use as a scraper; embossed "6" (or "9") on base, enclosed by portion of embossed Owens-type pontil; no amethyst (purple) or selenium (yellow) tint to glass; age of artifact bracketed by Owens ring (ca. 1903-1920s), and lack of tinting of glass (post-1917-ca. early 1920s); acquired by SRRM in modern grey cloth drawstring pouch containing loose tobacco
