weaving Item Number: 2021.O.007:1 from the Sto:lo Research & Resource Management Centre
Cream coloured, rectangular, wool weaving with green designs. The piece features three green geometric shapes. The shape is two right triangles coming together with a small square connecting them. In-between the three shapes is a 6 cm section of cream and green yarn mixed. Both ends of the textile have loops along the edge. The wool is fairly lumpy and uneven. There are a few dark brown hairs woven in, presumably by accident. There is a blue machine-made tag stitched onto one corner. It says "SALISH WEAVING" "HANDCRAFTED - FRASER VALLEY" "BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA".
Donated by Pat Matthews June 18, 2021. The weavings were purchased in the 1970's.
