Description

Copper coloured Six-pointed star, has a central design of the royal and imperial cypher surrounded by a crown. The cypher is also surrounded by a circlet containing the words 'France and Germany Star'. The Ribbon consists of equal stripes of blue, white, red,white, blue. Colours represent the Union flag and those of France and the Netherlands.

France and Germany Star (1944-1945), was awarded for one day or more of service in France, Belgium, Holland or Germany between June 6 1944 (D-Day) and May 8 1945.Has FRANCE-GERMANY stamped in black on storage box. Medals and papers from veterans affairs for W.J.J. (Walter John James) Williams. Includes medals earned during his time in service, notice of K.I.A status from the Canadian Government, newspaper clippings of W.J.J's regiment, and photographs of Walter and Louisa before Walter went to war.
