Fragment Item Number: 2023.O.007:12 from the Sto:lo Research & Resource Management Centre
A large semi-ovular slate fragment. The ventral surface is nearly covered with cortex; The cortex is smooth medium grey with brown, white, and darker grey streaks. The exposed surfaces are the same medium grey with a very fine grain. The ventral face also has some exposed worked surface with flake arrises, compression ripples, and an impact site near the distal end. The dorsal surface has some flake arrises, a small compression ring, and an impact site from the upper left mesial portion.

Collected by Cyril Holbrow throughout his lifetime (1921-2021,) Found while living on his farming properties- he was a naturalist and knew the area very well. He donated his finds to the Clayburn Village Community Society.
