Fragment Item Number: 2023.O.007:13 from the Sto:lo Research & Resource Management Centre
A large slate fragment. Possibly a knife or scraper. Both faces have been sanded down, with some negative scarring from the process. The belonging is a dark grey with a very fine grain. On the dorsal face there's a jagged half bevelled edge on the left mesial portion. On the ventral surface there's a bevelled edge along the curved proximal end, and an erailleur scar near the taller tip of the semi-squared distal end. The ventral face also has some slightly deeper sanding scars near the upper left mesial portion.
No other supporting documentation for this collection have been recorded.

Collected by Cyril Holbrow throughout his lifetime (1921-2021,) Found while living on his farming properties- he was a naturalist and knew the area very well. He donated his finds to the Clayburn Village Community Society.
