Net Sinker / Sinking Stone Item Number: 2023.O.007:15 from the Sto:lo Research & Resource Management Centre
A large net weight belonging. It is a silky light grey with a very fine grain, and varying shades of grey streaking throughout. There's a hole that has been carved into the belonging, with some use wear along the centre of the inner curve, and some light indents and use wear going width wise- potentially where the stone has been fastened to the net. Two potential point of impact sites, both can be seen more visibly from the smoothed ventral surface; One is where the lip of the belonging extends over the rest of the body, and the other is where one of the width-wise indents can be seen.
