Maul Item Number: 2023.O.007:27 from the Sto:lo Research & Resource Management Centre

Description

A large base hand maul fragment. The belonging is a dark grey with a fine grain, and an overall polished/sanded down finish. The base gradually pools over the side, and rounds out to form the base. The base is very slightly convexed. Some light chipping near the top of the stem, and near the base edge. The belonging's structure is strong and sturdy.

Collected by Cyril Holbrow throughout his lifetime (1921-2021,) Found while living on his farming properties- he was a naturalist and knew the area very well. He donated his finds to the Clayburn Village Community Society.
