Adze Item Number: 2023.O.007:32 from the Sto:lo Research & Resource Management Centre
A large adze blade with a unifacially bevelled edge, a squared-off rounded handle, and a saw blade groove on the right mesial portion. The belonging is a medium grey with some lighter grey spotting, and has been sanded down smooth. On the dorsal face near the top right of the squared-off corner some fragmentation has occured pre-collection, exposing some of the inner surface, it's more dull in colour, with a fine grain. The ventral face also has some fragmentation that occured on the back of the bevelled edge, and some harrisline fractures going length-wise.

Collected by Cyril Holbrow throughout his lifetime (1921-2021,) Found while living on his farming properties- he was a naturalist and knew the area very well. He donated his finds to the Clayburn Village Community Society.
