Description

Small, flat basketry mat of simple coiled work (bifurcated stitches) with watch-spring base construction. Mat has an overcast rim looped out in one section. Decorated with beading in a 1:1 ratio. Series of concentric rows of beading each in red or in black cherry bark - double stitch figures alternating in red and in black at the outer circumference.

Small coiled cedar root mats, like this one, are often beginner's projects. They are also made for sale, and personal use.
