Gloves Item Number: D1.68 a-b from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

Pair of beige hide gloves, or gauntlets, with flared opening. The top of both are covered in embroidery of red roses, blue birds and greenery. A hide fringe hangs down from the outer side of each glove.

Narrative

Collected by Dr. F. Ross circa 1962 in the Kootenay region? Originally recorded as Blackfoot, however the floral beadwork indicates a Metis influence or maker?
