Description

Animalistic painted wooden mask with a beak-like mouth. The upper beak is black with white dabs of paint along the edges. The lips are red and the lower beak is black. Inside the mask two ropes are strung to open the lower beak and move the tongue. The area surrounding the eyes is painted light brown. The eye is outlined in black, then red. The eye is made from a piece of reflective glass. On the top of the mask metal framework is attached and carries on inside and at the rear, by which the mask was held on the head. There are many fibres tangled about the metal framework at the rear. Also on top fibres are wrapped around nails.
