Description

Shuttle composed of a narrow piece of wood with two protruding arms at the sides of each end. Decorated with a series of small notches and incised lines on either side. A strip of leather with a short segment of branch attached is wrapped around the shuttle.

History Of Use

Shuttle to guide spun fibre through warp to create a weft. Spun fibre is wrapped around notched ends of shuttle and; outside end is attached as weft yarn for the weaving.
