Spinning Wheel Item Number: A8186 a-c from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

Carved, wooden spinning wheel. Part a is the handle and three pronged piece that slides through the middle hole of the spool (part c). These two parts, together, sit on top of upright end mounts attached to a rectangular base (part b).

Narrative

Made by Mrs. Bartleman's husband on the West Saanich Reserve. Mrs. Bartleman made a cattail mat that is also in the museum's collection.
