Description
Unfinished, small round mat; wrapped twined weaving. Purple dot in the centre outlined by yellow and red. Two large purple whales with yellow eyes and a yellow dot on side are at either side.
Narrative
Objects A4384 through A4396 were recorded as having been collected in 1938 by a student who was researching West Coast basketry for a paper. The items show various stages of basketry mat weaving, and include one of the tools used, as well as several samples of basketry materials.
