Description
Rounded, half-finished basket with imagery woven around the sides: two birds, a whale and two canoes. Plaited origin, and wrapped twined work. Bottom band of purple/yellow/purple.
Narrative
Objects A4384 through A4396 were recorded as having been collected in 1938 by a student who was researching West Coast basketry for a paper. The items show various stages of basketry mat weaving, and include one of the tools used, as well as several samples of basketry materials.
