Description
Relatively flat, dark brown wood fish-shaped figure outline carved with designs of a frigate bird with a fish on each side, one side having geometric squares and hatch marks in the background while the other side has a plain finished background. Engraved designs emphasized with white clay.
Narrative
Listed by Burnett as Trobriand, from the Massim region, but more recent research suggests a Solomon Islands attribution.
