Description

A black wood piece with four prongs at the bottom for hanging a food basket. There is an open diamond-shape in the middle for decoration. A circular protrusion separates the open diamond-shape from the other end which tapers to a point and has a hole through the middle.

History Of Use

Meant to hold a basket of food off the ground for protection from pests.

Narrative

Burnett said this was from the Missionary Lindsay collection. He may have obtained objects from Mr. Lindsay's collection while he was in Fiji, c. 1900?
