Description

Single circular oil bowl; spout for wick is opposite a handle on which a bird perches. Rim is patterned with raised ribbing and has six spade-shaped points on outer edge. Incorporated in middle of stem is an elephant; stem and bound base patterned with raised ribbing.

For use in a small temple or household. Important Hindu ritual object; it is among the nine essential forms of worship.
