Description

Spoon with ribbed incised handle in a braid-like pattern. At the end of the handle, there is an elephant sitting under a cobra hood canopy. There are stylized projections on either side of the bowl of the spoon as well as a fluted interior.

Used for offering holy water to Hindu gods during ceremonial worship.

Elephant symbolizes Ganesh, son of Shiva and Parvati, lord of departed souls and remover of hindrances.
