Moccasins3194/5 a-b

Beaded moccasins. Shoes are made of moose skin with thick fur lining the ankle. Top of toe and flap covering the back of the heel are decorated with heavy beading: a rose with green and blue foliage on the toe is edged by a line of alternating pink and blue beads over green felt. The heel flap holds cross hatched beading in white, red, blue, and pink. Interior of the moccasins are unlined.

Figure has orange and aquamarine-coloured pieces for the torso and legs, blue circles for arms, a white circle for his head, and black circles for the eyes, hands and feet. Heart-shaped piece of hide with multi-coloured beadwork stitched to front. Backed with pink floral damask. Writing in beadwork on front says "Mrs. Lucey 1953". Designs are of hearts and flowers. Orange and white scalloped beading around the edges.
