Description

Print showing a night scene with two street food vendor buildings. There is also a tree with a small dog beside it; two people sit on stools at one shop, partially hidden; a woman is visible at the other shop. An umbrella rests on the ground. Main colours are brown, grey and yellow with red and blue. There is an artist signature (冨吉郎作) in black at the lower left corner, with the Japanese date (Showa 26) and the name of the carver. The paper mount is stamped "Made in Japan".

Narrative

Print publisher: Matsukyū (版元まつ九); Japanese date (Showa 26/昭和廿六年); carver 英次郎. The publisher/printer Matsukyū was established in Kyoto by the artist Tokuriki Tomikichiro (徳力富吉郎), and is still active.
