Narrative

This print, Kotatsu (こたつ) by Itō Shinsui (伊東深水) is from his Gendai bijin-shū daini-shū (現代美人集第二輯/Modern Beauties Second Series). Kotatsu is a low table with a designated futon and a heater inside. The print has his signature 深水画 (Shinsui-ga) with his seal. The Japanese date is next to his signature, 昭和六年十二月 (December, Showa 6/1931).
