Narrative
This print, titled もみじ (A Beauty), has the artist’s seal, 雪岱 (Settai). It was featured in the English language magazine Japan Today and Tomorrow (1935, No. 8), designed to educate the reader about Japan, its culture, politics, businesses etc., and published by Osaka Mainichi Publishing Co. The magazine is fully illustrated with many black and white photographs and full-page colour illustrations, including this woodblock print by Komura Settai.
