Description

Woven crocodile figure painted orange-brown with black spots. The head is low to the ground. There are cowrie shells attached as eyes. The thick tubular body is supported by four thin legs. The curving tail has triangular pointed scales. Attached to the back is a string for hanging.

Specific Techniques

The artist uses the fibre of the gumba tree. It is cut, soaked in water for a week and then spun into a twine called 'manji'.
