Description

Large wooden sculpture carved in the form of a bird. Painted yellow (or faded green?) with black, white and red stylized designs. Missing its wings and legs. It has carved eyes and a large protruding beak. On its chest are design forms that depict feathers.

These carved birds (parts a-b) were found at the rear of Johnny Wallace's house on Hope Island. They possibly went above the front of a bighouse.

May represent Kulus, the younger brother of Thunderbird.
