Description

Circular, black slipped, red clay bowl with u-shaped handle horizontally attached at rim level. The bowl has a small base which curves out to rim. The bowl is black in colour with a red rim. An "a" is scratched in the surface of exterior under the handle.

Used for food or drink. Normally painted black with a reserved base. Archaic form.
