Description

A woman's full white cotton broadcloth blouse (or sleeves), overlapping at the centre back, and with no fasteners. Fullness gathered onto narrow neckband at the front, trimmed with narrow eyelet edging. Three-quarter length sleeves gathered onto narrow wrist bands.

Narrative

The donor says that in 1958, when she spent a holiday in the village, this type of costume would have been worn regularly on Sundays. See photographs in UBC museum archives. Possibly fastened with a brooch, but a safety pin is equally common.
