Description

Round, gold pendant (part a) on a gold chain (part b). The pendant has a three-dimensional design of an eagle face with blue abalone eyes, and is framed by flat pieces of abalone shell all the way around the outside of the face. The pendant came in a rectangular hand-made wooden box (part c) with a lid (d). The top of the lid has silver clasps for lifting, while the underside has silver hooks for displaying the pendant. There is also a purple velvet pillow (part e) inside the box for storing the pendant and a purple velvet bag (part f) that fits over the outside of the box.

Narrative

This work was commissioned by the Charles H. Scott Gallery (at the Emily Carr College of Art and Design) for inclusion in the 1989 Exhibition "Beyond Revival".
