Rat Guard Item Number: Ih232 from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

Circular, flat piece of dark brown wood with hole in centre.

History Of Use

The rat guard is placed over a food hook, on which hangs a basket of food, to prevent rats from being able to climb down to the food.

Narrative

This guard was made to fit over food hook C478. A pattern showing the food hook diameter was used by the maker in Fiji to be sure it would be the correct size. The pieces were exhibited together in the "Pasifika" exhibition, along with a basket which hung underneath.
