Carving Item Number: 2633/14 from the MOA: University of British Columbia
Multi-dimensional transformation carving. Four birds sit back to back on one end, and on the opposite (upside-down), the conjoined heads of two women, back to back, two stylized protrusions between them appear as upward facing arms.
An appraiser suggested that Sevuoi Aiyarani from Rankin Inlet may be the maker instead? The syllabics may be transliterated to "Ai-ya-ra" and the style is similar to facial carving on page 212, #628 in Swinton's "Sculpture of the Inuit."
