Narrative

A dress this colour would be worn by younger women; older women wore black. The dress was made by the donor to be worn with other items in the 1044 acquisition, which were purchased at a shop in the village. She says that in 1958, when she spent a holiday in the village, this costume would have been worn regularly on Sundays. See photographs in UBC museum archives.
