Description

Half of a longitudinal, bottle-shaped, brown wood piece that is circular in cross section with a tapering neck. Has a killer whale design. Has a black ovoid in ovoid eye surrounded by a white and green area, an open red mouth with six white teeth, a blue or black body, green, blue, red, and black fins and dorsal fin, and a tail that has a face with black ovoid in ovoid eyes, red nostrils, and open red mouth with six white teeth and red split u's for ears.

History Of Use

Identified as tla'sala whistle (see Boas, 1895, fig. 196) and as tla'sala horn (see Holm, 1972, p. 32.)
