D-adze handle or haft. Angular head and snout of bird-like figure on handle butt. Lower handle arm has hole drilled through for hafting blade (now missing).

Narrative
This D-adze has a handle with a bird's head that is stylistically similar to other birds represented on Coast Salish tools within the collection. Several of the mat creasers (A3519, Nbz866...) and one of the bark shredders (Nbz718) have similar style birds carved into them.
