Description

Carved wooden carnival mask depicting a man's head surmounted with a rooster. The rooster is facing the same direction as the man, with its body and head extending forward and to the left side of the face, and its tail extending back. The rooster's legs extend down the sides of the man's face, which has a protruding nose, a moustache and a slightly open mouth showing pointed teeth. The rooster's tail, wings, eyebrows and the man's hair, eyebrows and moustache are all indicated by a dark brown burnt decoration. There is a bit of red paint on the underside of the rooster's wattle, and there is one metal hook on the top of the mask.
