Description

Manioc press and strainer. Long, narrow, basketry tube. Woven from thin strips of brown and dark brown stem(?). One end is open, with a woven loop protruding from one side of the rim, while the other end is closed and has a loop bound with twined cord protruding from it.

History Of Use

Traditionally used as a manioc strainer and press. Would be filled with manioc pulp, suspended from one end and twisted, forcing out moisture and acidic liquid.
