Description

Woodblock print showing a scene of cars and people in front of a theatre. The car on the left side is green while the car on the right side is purple. Both cars are facing to the right side. The yellow-green theatre has three floors of windows with a cenral curved roof entrance that has four pillars. Each side of the theatre front has a square extension with a peaked roof and an upper balcony. On the left side is a vertically rectangular, red banner with four yellow-white characters. The sky is dark blue and light blue.Along the left edge, there are two vertical sections of black characters. Along the upper right side, there is a vertical row of black characters with a circular, red seal below. The print is horizontally rectangular.

Narrative

This print, Kabukiza (歌舞伎座)/Kabuki Theatre by Kawase Hasui (川瀬巴水) is signed 巴水 (Hasui) with his seal. His seal and the date appear at the bottom left.
