Round bowl-shaped container with (a) bulbous central chimney, on a flared cylindrical pedestal base with solid bottom; one side cut out in lobed design; all of silver. Bowl has rounded base and straight sides with out-turned rim; engraved with landscape scenes on both sides. On one side is engraved 'To Mr. J.H. Morris from S.Y. Kim'. Perforated with cash design under base. Two brass lugs under rim. Lid (b) has flat rim surrounding convex central portion on which are engraved two landscape designs between which are mounted two brass handles.
A very small 'Mongolian hot pot' used to cook sinsollo (a variety of ingredients cooked in water) in north China and Korea. In use, a fire is made in the lower chamber and food cooked in water in the bowl-shaped portion.
