Description
Red hand-woven blouse with stripe pattern and embroidery. The blouse has a gathered collar, v-neck and short up-turned sleeves. The stripe pattern has thin black and green lines, thick purple and blue lines and black lines with white dots on red ground. The embroidery on the upper front and back has abstract shapes in red, yellow, blue, green and burgundy. The bottom edge is unfinished. The inside is unlined.
History Of Use
Part of everyday costume worn by the women of Solola. Tucked into skirt, wrapped at waist with a belt. The material was woven on a back strap loom by a woman.
