Description
Wooden heddle pulley with bush cow (?) head. Shoulders are rounded and arms slightly flared. Body and neck are decorated with a geometric motif, head and bottom of arms are perforated. The surface is covered with a worn patina, and whittling marks are found on the arms. Bobbin is missing.
History Of Use
Used in weaving. The heddles are used to separate alternate warps in the horizontal hand loom. The heddle pulley raises and lowers the heddles, by revolving on an axle. Looms are operated by men.
